GOOGLOfficial announcement

Google’s 3.59 GW power agreement: securing electricity is only one step

The package combines 0.89 GW of new nuclear capacity and 2.70 GW of supply from existing generation. Total contracted power is not new data-center capacity.

Verified as of 2026-10-11 · Revision 1

A. Key facts

The October 6 announcement sets out a 20-year agreement for 890 MW of nuclear uprates and a separate 15-year agreement for 2,700 MW. The first incremental nuclear supply is targeted for 2028.

B. Business significance · InveDeck interpretation

The agreement improves visibility into long-term power availability. Grid connections, facility delivery and server installation still have to follow before electricity can support revenue-generating computing services.

C. Quantifiable impact

Combined contracted power is 890 + 2,700 = 3,590 MW, or 3.59 GW. Only 0.89 GW is incremental generation.

The announced investment exceeding $4.3 billion is Constellation’s. It is not added to Alphabet CapEx. Alphabet’s contract-specific payments and FCF impact were not quantified.

D. Link to earnings and expectations

This is a concrete power-procurement step, not an established increase in Alphabet revenue guidance or the activation of 3.59 GW of new IT load. Actual links between power delivery and facility operation need monitoring.

E. Industry and supply chain · InveDeck interpretation

Nuclear efficiency upgrades and electrical equipment could benefit. Effects on GPUs, servers and HBM depend on subsequent orders and installation.

F. What to watch next

  • The actual annual delivery schedule for the 890 MW
  • Google’s purchase obligations and electricity costs
  • The data-center capacity and server installations supported by the supply
