EARNINGS REVIEW
Oracle FY26 Q1 — The challenge is converting 455 B$ of RPO into revenue and cash
Historical earnings report · Management guidance reflects expectations at the time of the release, not subsequent outcomes. The financial comparison uses the site’s normalized dataset, including comparative figures restated in later filings.
Revenue grew 12%, cloud 28%, IaaS 55%, and SaaS 11%; software fell 1%. The cloud/software presentation should not be mechanically spliced onto the older combined cloud-services-and-support line.
Assessment · Key checks are concentration, commissioning, actual usage and collections. Management’s claim that much forecast revenue is booked does not remove cost, return or financing risks. Prioritize current conversion and post-investment FCF over headline backlog.
01 Business growth and drivers
Revenue grew 12%, cloud 28%, IaaS 55%, and SaaS 11%; software fell 1%. The cloud/software presentation should not be mechanically spliced onto the older combined cloud-services-and-support line.
02 Earnings quality and comparability
Adjusted operating profit rose 9% and adjusted EPS 6%, while GAAP EPS fell 2%. Current earnings grew far slower than backlog. Large contracts represent future obligations and opportunity, not profit already earned.
03 Cash flow, investment and financial position
Trailing OCF rose 13% to 21.5 B$. Assess capex and debt needed to build supply. Treating 455 B$ of RPO as cash or immediately available funding ignores the investment needed to fulfill contracts.
04 Management commentary and outlook
Catz said four multibillion-dollar contracts with three customers drove 359% RPO growth. OCI revenue was forecast at 18 B$ in FY26, then 32, 73, 114 and 144 B$. These are management projections, not achieved results.
05 Investment interpretation and next checks
Key checks are concentration, commissioning, actual usage and collections. Management’s claim that much forecast revenue is booked does not remove cost, return or financing risks. Prioritize current conversion and post-investment FCF over headline backlog.

CY denotes the calendar quarter with the greatest overlap with the fiscal period. If the first period has no start date, 89 days before its end is used only for calendar mapping. Financial values are not recalculated into calendar quarters. Incomplete years show totals of included quarters; cash, liabilities, borrowings and net cash use the last period-end balance. QoQ and YoY show absolute changes; margin changes are percentage points. Dashes indicate missing evidence or incomparable periods or definitions. Total liabilities never substitute for borrowings.
Definitions and evidence coverage
A dash means unavailable or undisclosed, not zero. Company-defined FCF may differ from total operating cash flow less common-basis CapEx. Total liabilities are accounting liabilities, not interest-bearing debt.
