EARNINGS REVIEW
AI server growth and the pace of cash conversion
Historical earnings report · Management guidance reflects expectations at the time of the release, not subsequent outcomes. The financial comparison uses the site’s normalized dataset, including comparative figures restated in later filings.
ISG revenue rose 24% year on year and servers and networking rose 37%. CSG grew 3%, led by commercial PCs. Separating server shipments from the PC recovery makes the sources of consolidated growth visible.
Assessment · The key issue is whether cash collection keeps pace with AI-driven sales. Server growth and operating income are positive signals, but financing receivables and inventory determine how much cash the expansion consumes.
01 Drivers by business
ISG revenue rose 24% year on year and servers and networking rose 37%. CSG grew 3%, led by commercial PCs. Separating server shipments from the PC recovery makes the sources of consolidated growth visible.
02 Margins and earnings quality
Operating margin reached 7.8%, up 0.7 percentage points. Management attributed the improvement to operating leverage and cost discipline, while the higher AI server mix weighed on gross margin. AI growth therefore did not improve every margin measure simultaneously.
03 Cash conversion and funding
Quarterly OCF of $1.172 billion less gross cash PP&E/software investment of $0.669 billion plus asset-sale proceeds of $0.003 billion gives common-basis FCF of $0.506 billion. Net cash CapEx is $0.666 billion; acquisition payments are excluded.
Company FCF was $0.506 billion. It is separate from adjusted FCF, which removes DFS financing-receivable and operating-lease equipment effects. Consolidated cash flow is not the cash flow of the AI server business alone.
04 RPO versus order backlog
Filed RPO was $51.000 billion. It includes deferred revenue and unbilled contractual obligations, excluding cancellable contracts without substantive penalties. Its scope differs from AI server backlog; the two should not be added.
05 Guidance at the announcement date
At the November 25 release, management raised FY26 AI shipment guidance to approximately $25 billion. Annual revenue guidance was $111.2–112.2 billion, with a $111.7 billion midpoint; next-quarter revenue guidance was $31–32 billion. These are management forecasts at that date, separate from realized results.
06 Investment checkpoints
The key issue is whether cash collection keeps pace with AI-driven sales. Server growth and operating income are positive signals, but financing receivables and inventory determine how much cash the expansion consumes.

CY denotes the calendar quarter with the greatest overlap with the fiscal period. If the first period has no start date, 89 days before its end is used only for calendar mapping. Financial values are not recalculated into calendar quarters. Incomplete years show totals of included quarters; cash, liabilities, borrowings and net cash use the last period-end balance. QoQ and YoY show absolute changes; margin changes are percentage points. Dashes indicate missing evidence or incomparable periods or definitions. Total liabilities never substitute for borrowings.
Definitions and evidence coverage
A dash means unavailable or undisclosed, not zero. Company-defined FCF may differ from total operating cash flow less common-basis CapEx. Total liabilities are accounting liabilities, not interest-bearing debt.
Tables use SEC-filed comparative values verified through 2026-10-17. Guidance retains the original announcement date; later outcomes are not backdated into past forecasts. This report does not claim a complete conference-call Q&A review.
